Our rustic, yet comfortable cabin is located only 100 feet from the mainline (Denver & Rio Grande, Southern Pacific, and Union Pacific).

An average of 12-15 trains pass by each day on a 2% grade, including coal loads with mid-train helpers, intermodals, manifest freights, and Amtrak, operated by UP and BNSF. South Boulder Creek runs through the backyard, for fishing or just relaxing.

The cabin was built in 1922, and has been significantly modernized over the years.

Why settle for the monotony of a hotel room, when Cabin By The Tracks provides everything you need except cable and a phone? (You wanted to leave those behind, anyway!) Telephones are available at the post office and at the restaurant up the road.

Through the years, we have filled the cabin with reminders of Colorado's mountain lifestyle. Central heating and an electric fireplace keep the cabin warm for a cozy winter getaway.

Stock up on groceries in Nederland (only six miles from the cabin), and settle in for a hearty home-cooked meal. Our kitchen and dining area have everything you need - except the food! A stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, utensils, cookware, and paper products are available for your use.

Yes, our cabin does have indoor plumbing, complete with a flush toilet, sink, and shower. We keep a fresh supply of towels and tissue there for your convenience. Laundry facilities are available in nearby towns including Nederland and Rollinsville.

The cabin has three bedrooms for your family vacation or a reunion of close friends. One bedroom has a double bed with a handsome, natural log frame. A second bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedroom has one single bed.

Rates are based on your length of stay, and the number of bedrooms you use. Click here for more information and current rates.

Our cabin is a wonderful place up in the mountains, out-of-the-way, but close to everything, and right on top of all the great Colorado Railroad action.
